About Mealworms

Mealworms are the larvae of the Yellow Mealworm Beetle - the adult beetles are shiny dark-brown or black - their larvae are honey-yellow. Dried mealworms retain all this protein and fat but without the wriggle! They are also easier to store than their live counterparts and much more affordable.

How To Feed Mealworms

Sprinkle as they are or rehydrate by soaking in warm water for a few minutes. Although our dried mealworms are a year-round bird food, it is recommended during Spring & Summer time to soak them in warm water before feeding as adult birds may be feeding them to their young.

How To Store Your Mealworms

Dried mealworms should be stored in a cool dry location. Mealworms that are stored in this way can last months without spoiling. Our 3kg storage containers are ideal to store your mealworms in a secure, dry place.

Our 5kg and 12.55kg packaging is completely recyclable. The box liners are recyclable and our boxes are also made from recycled materials.

Our mealworms come from China and are fed on a mixture of wheat meal, pumpkin seeds and bran.

*Areas Outside of Standard Delivery

Delivery to Scottish Highlands, Islands and Republic of Ireland are charged at varying costs. The cost will be displayed on the checkout page once a postcode is entered. Delivery to these areas is a DPD 2-5 Working Day service.

Mad for mealworms

Our birds go mad for the mealworms, starlings, robin, and sparrows. It is convenient not to have to buy supplies so frequently.

My hedgehogs and birds absolutely love these. They like suet and seed too but in my experience a mealworm trumps everything:-)
