The outer shell of the Schweglar Nest Box is made from Woodcrete, which is a breathable blend of wood, concrete and clay. This durable material protects the internal wooden nest box from rot, leaks, cracks or wraps and maintains a constant temperature inside the box. The front panel can be removed for inspection and cleaning.

The Schwegler bird box has been in production for almost 50 years and is backed by conservation organisations, government agencies and forestry experts. The 26mm hole will be the perfect home for Marsh Tits, Blue Tits, Coal Tits and possibly Wrens.

Where to site a Schwegler nest box?

Weighing a whopping 3.6kg, this nest box will need to be attached to a tree or wall using the aluminium nail provided, or you can hang it on a sturdy branch. This type of nest box can also be sited between 2 and 4 metres above the ground. If possible, face the box between North and East to avoid rain, wind and direct heat from the sun.
