With a rise in urban development and new builds causing a decline in natural nesting spots for our wild birds, their population has dropped significantly and will continue to do so if we don't give them a safe home to nest in. According to the RSPB, 600 million breeding birds have been lost in the EU and UK since 1980, and the decline in natural nesting spots is one of the leading causes behind this.
But hope for our wild birds is not lost if we do one simple act for them...place a nest box in your garden or outdoor space. By putting up one, two or even three nest boxes like this one, you have immediately upped a bird's chances of survival.
This Classic Nest Box is made of sturdy FSC wood and complies with all safety recommendations for birds. Unscrewing the silver fixing will gain you access into the nest box from the side, and the drainage holes at the bottom will help keep this box clean.
What birds will use this nest box?
This 32mm hole nest box will be used by House Sparrows, Nuthatch, Tree Sparrows, Pied Flycatchers, Great Tits, Blue Tits, Coal Tits, Marsh Tits, Crested Tits, and other smaller birds.
