Why do we participate?

Farmers and gamekeepers play a crucial role in the survival of many farmland bird species. Through conservation efforts such as supplementary feeding and growing wild bird seed and cover crops, they provide the habitat and food necessary to bolster population numbers.

The Big Farmland Bird Count helps track the impact of conservation projects and offers firsthand insight into the birds' well-being on the land.
